When removing the track rod to replace the inner ball joint, very often access is limited, and even if there is a hex on the inner ball joint you won’t get a spanner anywhere near it. The new Laser Tools rack end remover tool, (part number 6576) overcomes this access problem by fitting over the track rod itself and gripping the inner ball joint at the steering rack end securely.

Three sizes are included in the kit (30-35mm, 35-40mm and 40-45mm), all of which adjust themselves to grip any type of inner ball joint, hex to completely round, the ball joint will be gripped firmly.

The tool is turned with a 32 millimetre hex or, very usefully, with a half-inch drive. The track rod and inner ball joint will be removed in seconds. And when installing the new inner ball joint, the half-inch drive makes it easy to tighten to the correct manufacturer’s torque setting.

Another time saving, innovative solution from Laser Tools and available now from your local supplier.
