Anyone who’s worked on HGV brake calipers knows the problem — the bolts are hidden away, stuck fast, and awkward to reach. That’s where Laser Tools’ new 24mm Offset Brake Caliper Wrench (part number 9142) comes in.
This latest addition to Laser’s dedicated HGV tool range is a 24mm bi-hex (12-point) slogging-style spanner, manufactured from toughened S45C steel (HRC 38–42) with a durable black phosphate finish. Its offset design allows it to reach brake caliper bolts where direct access is limited — a common frustration for HGV technicians working on modern commercial vehicles.
Unlike a conventional ring spanner, the slogging design gives the technician options: use with a 1/2" drive breaker bar or apply impact with a hammer to break free corroded or overtightened fixings — the slogging head allows the use of this hammer impact without damaging the spanner. Then finish the job properly by attaching a 1/2" drive torque wrench via the integrated square drive for precise tightening. For accuracy, the correction factor formula is even etched on the tool body.
